Who we are
Founded by Bianca Dignan, Aperture is a multidisciplinary studio shaped by experience and a belief that well-considered spaces should be functional, enduring and deeply responsive to the people who use them.
Bianca began her professional career in 2014 following an influential period living in Valencia, Spain. Immersed in a culture where architecture, lifestyle and public life are deeply intertwined, this experience shaped her sensitivity to place, rhythm and the social role of design. Since then, her work has spanned private residences, premium multi-residential developments and hospitality environments across Australia and abroad.
Bianca’s approach is shaped by more than a decade working within established design studios, most recently as Associate Director at Carr, where she led design thinking, strategy and project delivery. This experience sharpened her ability to balance design ambition with rigour, ensuring spaces were not only resolved in form, but effective in use.
At Aperture, design is a process of refinement. Interiors created are immersive and enduring. Spaces are conceived not as static outcomes, but as lived environments — shaped by spatial intelligence, material honesty and an understanding of how people move, gather, pause and connect.
Alongside its design practice, Aperture offers advisory services that apply the same clarity-driven thinking to development and business strategy. Working closely with clients and stakeholders, the studio aligns creative vision with commercial understanding — helping ideas find their most focused, confident and viable expression.
Aperture represents a considered way of seeing and shaping the built environment — one that values restraint over excess, intention over trend, and spaces that quietly support the way people live, gather and experience place.
